July 1989 - Out patient therapy and white compression stockings. 50 lbs of steroid weight.	Truck lift to get from wheelchair into pool--3-5 times a week.
Unable to use right arm or walk backward so pulled. Taking baby steps in water.  Feet underneath picture pigeon toed and all over each other.  Needed constant help not to fall over.	Note lung and back head scars, as well as shoes and ankle weights.  Walked about 4-15 times, then slept rest of day.
August 1989 - discussing possibility of standing for the first time.	Absolutely thrilled that legs did not buckle. No standing balance at all. Therapist had to hold up.
